Some features of Rapix3D
-
Fluid visualization of 3D objects
Visualizing fluidly the enormous data of STL, PLY or CLI objects is often impossible for current graphics hardware. Therefore Rapix3D features an automatic fast-draw-mode for complex objects. Parts are shown in a detail-reduced version that fits the capacity of the particular hardware running Rapix3D.
-
3D-Print preview for built layers
Rapix3D is able to display parts in the contour-based CLI format drawing solid layers. Like a 3D-Print preview this gives a good idea how the parts will look like when they have been printed. So the user is given a possibility to recognize erroneous layer data visually.
-
Error recognition and correction in triangulation data
Errors in triangulated data from STL or PLY files often cause expensive misprints. For example, one single wrong orientated triangle might cause the printed prototype to break. Avoiding such situations, Rapix3D therefore offers several tools for error recognition and error correction. The user is prevented from generating erroneous layer data during the slicing process. Therefore many misprints can so be avoided. If data errors, for example non-closed surfaces, occur, the graphical user interface and the 3D-View reveal their existance, kind and appereance.
-
Bitmap printing (3D-Printing)
For RP-machines that work with a bitmap-printing technique, Rapix3D calculates the print-bitmaps from the contour data, which are organized in layers. It is capable to process even extremely large bitmaps containing several hundreds of millions of pixels. Accomodation to diverse material properties is possible, too. Rapix3D features efficient keeping of data and concurrent precalculation of printer data. This ensures the building process to be completed at the best possible rate of time. A 2D preview with simulated printing and sequential bitmap rendering is self-evident.
-
Contour printing (Stereolithography)
Contour-printing techniques like stereolithography benefit from Rapix3D's flexible printer preferences for offset contours and hatching. Important job dependent parameters can be adjusted to the particular requirements in an ergonomic dialog and be reloaded on demand. The support generator allows piling of parts and optionally minimizes the support structure to the actually needed area. Support is generated below layers only where it is needed. The contour-printing version of Rapix3D provides a 2D preview with simulation of offset-contours, hatches and support with the possibility for rendering the layers in a sequence of pictures.
-
Graphical editor for machine parameter data
Each RP-machine requires numerous settings. The AscEdit 2002 application provides clearly arranged administration of even large parameter sets in the look and feel of the registry editor in Microsoft's Windows Operating System. Rapix3D allows you to specify your own parameters to e.g. control hardware upgrades and enhancements of your own machines appropriately.
-
C++ hardware interface
Rapix3D provides a C++ hardware interface for your software developers to enable you to control your machine. Thanks to its object-oriented implementation a specialization of the abstract basic functionality that exactly applies for communication with your machines can be made efficiently. The control dialog of the building process has some space left that your software developers can design according to your requirements and wishes.
